14 Tips To Catch Repeat Visitors To Your Websites

Friday, June 30th, 2024

1. Your home or opening page should contain a clear explanation of what your site is all about. No one wants to waste time clicking on links and going through pages of text just to discover what your intentions are.

2. Your site must be easily navigable. A site menu at the top, bottom, or side of each page is very helpful especially for a first time visitor, especially if your site has lots of pages.

3. Your site’s content is its heart, so make sure that it has substance. The content is you talking to the visitor, so you should be concerned about making a good impression.

4. Your links should be clearly labeled. If a link leads to a guestbook, a ‘Guestbook’ name for such link is direct and straight to the point.

5. Dark text on light background is best for reading. Black text on white background is the most readable. Light on dark can work too, but it tends to be glaring for some people.

6. Your color scheme must fit the mood of the content of your site and suit your target audience. Whatever colors you use, make sure that they all go with each other. Clashing colors can be a major eyesore.

7. For uniformity purposes, the pages’ layout must be the same with one another unless it is completely necessary to break the pattern.

8. Make sure that your layout that is viewable for all screen resolutions. Avoid too-long and too-wide pages so that people with bigger screen resolutions would not have to scroll up-down and side-to-side.

9. A page with graphics, animation, Flash movies, and music takes more time to load than one without. If you bombard your site with these accessories, many visitors will not hang around and wait for the pages to load especially if they are using dial-up connection. Besides, too much of a good thing is tacky. Use these add-ons sparingly.

10. Follow all HTML standards so your website will be compatible with commonly used browsers, namely Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla. If you can make your site viewable for most browsers, so much the better.

11. Some browsers are set not to accept plug-ins. Some are set to text-only. Whatever browser settings the visitor has, you should have made sure that the site is still aesthetically appealing in all possible circumstances.

12. If you are going to use graphics, make sure that they are of high resolution. This is especially important if you are selling products and using photos to showcase your goods.

13. Before publishing your website, road-test it first by browsing through it as if you are a first time visitor. This is the best way to sort out any kinks that would have been otherwise overlooked.

14. If you have no web design and html knowledge, hire a web designer to build your site. If you have no web design knowledge but have little html knowledge, you may buy pre-made web templates, here is a collection of professional web templates that you can use:

In the end, freshness is the most essential feature your site should have. The internet is highly dynamic so do not let your site get stuck in a rut. Always keep your site updated in terms of content. Enhance the aesthetics of the site every now and then. If you think your site’s look is on its way to being outdated, do not be afraid of giving it a major overhaul. After all, makeovers seem to be the craze right now.

4 Tricks For Lightning Fast Indexing

Monday, June 19th, 2024

Indexing Tip #1:
Never launch a new site with a lot of back links. Build natural links over weeks and months.

Let’s face it, there is no guaranteed method of getting indexed by Google fast, and buying links from high-ranking sites does not guarantees anything either.

The most immediate red flag you should watch out for is your number of incoming links. According to Google, it takes time to get link popularity and sites should not have more than 100 incoming links.

It’s okay to launch with a quality link or two. But beyond that, you are pushing it!

Here is the scoop! It takes 30-45 days for Google to deep index new sites. Instead of sitting around during “sandbox” time, use that period to build a strong set of natural back-links with a variety of sites.

Indexing Tip #2:
Register your domain name at least four months before you plan to launch the site.

No I am not kidding! Whether you agree with it or not, history shows that Google takes older URLs far more seriously than newer ones. So register your domain name as soon as you plan on developing a site.

Indexing Tip #3:
Blog and ping carefully.

Blogging & pinging is one of the fastest ways to get into the Yahoo index - it can literally get you into Yahoo overnight - helps with MSN as well.

Will blogging and pinging help get you into Google? Maybe. But over-pinging can set off red flags on the ping servers, and if you’re using automated blogging software, overdoing it can cause Blogger.com and other services to shut down your blog.

Blogging and pinging intelligently can get your blog indexed in Yahoo quickly, but ping carefully.

Does Yahoo de-index junk blogs? Absolutely. Especially since the creation of all this software, the search engines are watching closely for red flags (use software wisely).

So what can you do about Yahoo Search? Not much… You can be smart about blogging and pinging or even better, you can create real (not by software) blogs. You still have to be careful with pinging though.

In the end, blogging and pinging should be part of every beginner’s indexing strategy.

Indexing Tip #4:
If you build bulk directory/portal sites - keep them in the 200-300 page range.

We know it’s such a blast to build those monster 1000-5000 page sites, even with growing evidence of Google bots’ tendencies to stall after indexing the first 200 pages or so…

So if you’re into blasting out those gigantic directories and sick of waiting months for them to get indexed, experiment with building smaller sites around more targeted niches.

In a nutshell: Divide those mega-keyword lists, spend a little time grouping your sub-lists, and build smaller sites.

All in all, the best way to get indexed, stay indexed and eventually get ranked is to recruit incoming link partners. See, blogging and pinging could be gone tomorrow. But, linking is an integral part of how the internet works - it will never go away.

Concentrate on building sites and recruiting links - the links get you indexed, ranked and even bring you free traffic from those who click the links!

5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool

Sunday, June 4th, 2024

Do you ever feel like you know just enough about Blogging to be dangerous? Let’s see if we can fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from Blogging experts.

Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential. Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

1.Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.

2. Blogging is authentic. In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.

3. Blogging is free. Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free. Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up. Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.

4. Blogging builds credibility. As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.

5. Blogging builds your market. Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts. Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is. But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base. Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:

Knowledge can give you a real advantage. To make sure you’re fully informed about Blogging, keep reading.

-By using your e-mail. Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site. Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.

-By using subscription. An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

-By understanding your readers. Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

-By joining a blog network –A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc. Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.

-By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

When word gets around about your command of Blogging facts, others who need to know about Blogging will start to actively seek you out. http://www.article-ecommerce.com/

A Hidden Camera to Protect Your Home

Thursday, May 18th, 2024

The hidden camera in the home looks like regular household objects: clocks, radios, speakers, kitchen appliances, lamps, even stuffed animals. Most of these objects even perform regular functions, so they are useful aside from allowing you to know exactly what is going on inside your home. Because the camera is hidden in what appears to be ordinary objects, the nanny, babysitter, or housekeeper does not even know that she or he is being watched. Although you can let such people know that you do have a hidden camera or two about so that they are on their best behaviors when in your home (just do not say where the camera is).

Abuse of children by nannies and babysitters is on the rise, and you can press charges with the evidence you collect from a hidden camera. It allows you to catch abusive behavior and ensure that your children remain in a safe environment, even when you are from home (no parties for older children when you are away, either!). On top of that, while there are many housekeepers that are impeccable in their honesty, there are a few that do not scruple to take a little extra while on the job. A hidden camera will help you detect theft and protect your valuables.

The proper placement of a hidden camera can save you anguish and indecision. This can help you recover damages, press charges, and ensure that offenders receive the justice they have coming to them. After all, with the proof right before your eyes, you can act immediately and with certainty.

AdSense Tips For Bloggers

Sunday, May 7th, 2024

Adsense for blogs make perfect sense. Google’s advertising programs are designed to work with sites related to the keywords for the ads that are being presented. Each time you add content to your blog, the Google spiders gobble it up. The more you update, the more the Google spider visits your page. Ultimately, you move up in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) for the topics that you write about. You see where this is going. The higher your search ranking, the more traffic you receive, which ultimately leads to higher revenue from AdSense ads.

The beauty of blogs is their potential for rapid growth. If you become known as an expert in your area of expertise, word of mouth spreads quickly and your blog can become very popular. So it is vital that you always teach something with every blog entry. You want your readers to come back frequently and they will if they know they will learn something. Not only will your readers bookmark your blog and return often, but they will link to your blog enthusiastically as well. People in forums will refer to your blogs and discuss what they learned. Websites will link to you as a valuable resource. In short, an informative blog can grow very quickly if the information it provides is valuable.

It is important to write about specific topics, and sprinkle your blog entries with specific keywords to get the best results – and the highest revenue – with your Google AdSense ads. There is a method to the madness. Start your revenue generating blog by testing the waters.

Decide what area you would like to write about and then do some keyword research. Research is easy if you use Google’s keyword tools found at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox . The keyword tools are located in your Google AdWords account. Yes, you need a free AdWords account to be successful but you don’t have to fund it to use the keyword tools. Look for keywords related to your subject that are high paying. These are keywords where the bid amounts are high. Make a list of the top paying keywords, and use that list to determine what topics you will write about.

Remember, you want people to visit your blog time and time again, and build up a readership, make sure that your blog is well written and informative. Don’t just target keywords for the sake of targeting keywords – the writing needs to make sense! Writing valuable content is the first step to generating traffic to your blog, and traffic is needed to profit from AdSense ads!

You are allowed to use the AdSense ad units in two different places on each page. You can accomplish this in a couple of different ways. First, you can add the AdSense ad code to the template for your blog. This is done through the control panel for your blog, and some knowledge of HTML is needed. The other option is to paste the AdSense code directly in your blog post each time you submit a new post. You can use it once at the top and once at the bottom, or once after a few paragraphs of the post, and again after a few more paragraphs.

Get that code in there however you see fit – but then pay close attention to the results so you can see what is working and what isn’t. Tracking is everything if you want to make real money!

Of course, you need to advertise your blog as much as possible as well. Make sure that you provide Trackbacks to other people’s blogs as often as possible, and that you visit blogs, leave comments – and leave a link for your blog as well!

Beat The Phenomenon Of Awful Sale Statistics

Thursday, April 20th, 2024

The number one reason why sellers fail online, is caused by a lack of knowledge, as how to advertise their products. FFA’s are a good example of this. Visit any ffa page on the net and you will see people struggling. Thousands of affiliates and other sellers use these methods as their sales vehicle. It is certain you will fail if you use these type of methods. The only people who will ever see these type of sites will be other sellers. And it would have to be one brilliant product, to be able to make a successful sale, to another seller via this method.

The second main reason, are products which are sold with pre-built sales pages. This whole process promotes a system, by which sellers think they can promote and provide websites, built-up totally with single web sales pages, and make easy money as a result. The resell products, themselves, mostly are initially purchased by sellers, because of a main sales pitch of ‘You Will Make Easy Money’. The product itself becomes second best. Potential income becomes the sellers main driving point and this simply misses the mark totally. This is a real online marketing trap. All this provides is a one page sales pitch without the backing of any real substance. This substance can only be given by the backing of a real website, with your resale products built in, as part of it. And the products you sell should always be a necessary part of the topics covered by your website. Remember always, never sell items with standalone sales pages, without a reference point. And this reference point should always initially be found exactly, in the beating heart of the pre-sale, that can be found on your own website. We will get to this point in more detail further below shortly.

As a further proof of another form of this lack of substance. I have recently received feedback from other sellers who have not even read the actual content of the product they are reselling. This just does not make any business sense at all. I myself sell a lot of resell rights e-book products. But they are only the products I have researched and want my own name and my company name attached to. I even recently had an affiliate send me a resell rights e-book package he purchased which consisted of an amazing sales package, it simply took my breath away. But the actually e-book product it promoted consisted of 9 pages. If I was the customer who purchased this package. I would be pretty overwhelmed, by the feeling of being ripped off, if I paid $49.95 for a 9 page e-book. And needless to say, the information that it contained, was useless to say the least. Any customer who may purchase this product, it would be safe to say, would be very cautious before they ever purchased a product online ever again. And it would be certain to say they would never purchase a product from that seller ever again either. Honesty is a word that needs to be applied totally in online sales. Forget the potential profit line for a moment. You need to be totally committed to the product you are selling. And you need to be totally committed to the principle of getting information of real value out there and into the hands of others.

So how do you succeed online with real success. Firstly if you want to make money online consistently you need, as stated earlier, a real website. It just amazes me how many sellers just don’t even have a real website of there own. You need to show potential buyers what motivates you in what you do. If you have a website system of single web sales pages. You are never going to achieve any success online. Design a website around what motivates and excites you. Build information that you have written yourself, and quality information written by others, that has real information value. Provide a website of substance that aligns itself to great informational links. Always Align your website, with other websites that have the same commitment, with exactly the ideas you hold most valuable. Show a potential buyer or even just that website visitor cruising the net. That you know exactly what you are talking about, and promote your products around this knowledge.

Secondly learn exactly how to promote your website successfully. Seek out the knowledge of others who are successful online and take in all the information that they offer. The reason why in the previous paragraph, I mentioned the need for a real website before this topic of advertising, has other benefits as well. If you have a real website you will get indexed well in the search engines. Getting indexed well, will gain you quality targeted traffic, that costs nothing. So build a good website, submit it to the engines, and simply let time take its course. For example to get into google it is going to take about 7 months, there is no way around this except just waiting. Just submit and focus on adding real value content to your website. And focus on other methods of advertising. The perfect method is to build an email list of your own. There are thousands of real valid methods on how to achieve this. The best being, by simply starting your own ezine, built around exactly the same topics which your website covers.

I hope that this article may help to guide you too success. I myself make a living off the internet. I make around 40,000 dollars per year after tax. It is not a great deal of money. I must say that I made more in my previous full-time job. But the internet has given me the freedom, to do what I want to do, when I want to do it. Being your own boss has huge freedom based benefits. But to achieve these benefits requires on-going plain simple hard work. There is no easy way to make money online other than hard work, that is a guaranteed fact, and covers any part of life. Everyone has the potential to make money on the internet. But to achieve this requires a real commitment to the absolute requirements of knowledge, quality, honesty, and hard work. Remember always value what you do, and how you do it, and others will value you for it. That is certain.

Become a Recognized Authority in Your Field - in 60 Days or Less!

Wednesday, April 19th, 2024

Maybe you offer a workshop at your office, church, or community center. Get it in the community calendars, from newspapers to cable television. Call up your local news stations, and offer yourself as the subject of an interview. One listing or call at a time, you’ll begin to make a name for yourself.

When you have an event coming up, call your local news stations and offer to interview on their early morning or noontime talk shows. Prepare for your interview by identifying two or three main points you want to make about your subject. Take a blank videocassette to record the show. Then, you can send the recording as an audition tape to a station with a wider audience.

Contribute to public discussions. Write letters to the editors of newspapers and magazines whenever they cover stories in your field. You may offer an alternate viewpoint or simply compliment them on a well-written article. The more people see your name in connection with your subject, the more they’ll recognize you as an authority in your field.

You can take this strategy to the Web, too. Do you have a blog that allows you to share your thoughts and expertise on a daily basis? If not, that’s one place to begin. It’s quick, fun, and makes you available on the Web. If you already have a Web page, make it a habit to visit message boards in your field and post your link, along with your opinions.

Begin today to put these strategies into practice, and before the next 60 days are through, you’ll have a steadily growing number of people who recognize you as the authority in your field.

Before you spend that money, let’s talk about history.

Sunday, April 16th, 2024

These characters are all really slick. Their one page web site is designed to draw you in, convince you, and take your hard earned money. Some of them are written really well and the product is very tempting to buy. But does a little doubt linger somewhere at the back of your mind? Is there something holding you back but you just can’t quite put your finger on it? There might be a valid reason for that.

Let’s travel through history a bit and see if we can figure out why you get those tiny doubts….

Orson Wells. Heard of him? War of the Worlds. Heard of that? I think almost anyone in the U.S. knows both names, but for amusement I’ll summarize the story. The War of the Worlds was a fiction radio story. I think it was broadcast in the 1940’s or 1950’s era but I don’t remember the exact date. This story happened to be science fiction, and happened to involve aliens landing on Earth and starting a war. Now the story was put on in full production mode — just like the fiction movies you see on TV today with professional actors. The only problem is, many people tuned into the radio show while it was in progress, and they had no idea it was a fictional story! Panic and chaos ensued.

Jump to the 1960’s era. Did you know there was a book that was put on to best seller lists, even though the book didn’t actually exist? Yep. A radio DJ cooked up a plot to “fool” some people. He arranged to have listeners go to bookstores and request a specific book. The book didn’t actually exist, and this was part of the prank. To his and his listener’s surprise: Their requests for this book stirred up interest across the world. People were talking about the book everywhere — reviews were even written about it! And soon enough it showed up on a bestseller list. But the book did not even exist. The non-existent book was called “I’ Libertine”, and due to the furor created from the prank, the radio DJ went on to write a real book by that name later in life.

Now let’s jump ahead about 30 years. In the 1990’s, some of you may remember computer communities called a “BBS”. BBS stands for bulletin board system, and back then this was a computer that you dialed in to. Once connected, you could download files, chat with other members and play games. The public Internet was not available back then, so this was as close as you could get. One BBS was having a difficult time getting itself off the ground. They had one major competitor, and they couldn’t seem to win customers away from that competitor. So the owners decided to entice the customers. The customers were almost 100% male back then, and one thing they were all looking for was a friendly female. So one of the owners of the new BBS — a man — took on a BBS personality of a female. They set up a charade basically, with all the trimmings. This man would pretend to be female and chat with all the guys on the competitor’s BBS. During the chats, “she” would make sure they all understood that she could be found more often on this other, newer BBS. So, if they wanted to talk to her more, they would have to go over there. And they did.

Jump ahead to the later 90’s and the Internet is just coming into play as a business medium. I’m personally aware of several companies which made themselves appear much larger than they were. How? Primarily by putting up pictures of their “office” building on their company website. The pictures they put up however, weren’t actually their offices. They were in an apartment, or basement in reality. But the pictures showed gorgeous, upscale office buildings. They made themselves look much bigger and successful than they actually were.

And today we have thousands of one page websites which tout the accomplishments of their owners. These websites make many claims and sometimes those claims are hard to believe.

You see, there really are consultants in this world who make several thousands of dollars for seminar presentations. But those consultants usually have a corporate style, polished website. You can tell as soon as you get there that they’ve spared no expense in getting the site professionally done. You’ll find links on the site too — links to corporate and/or consultant information, links to additional resources, links to recent and upcoming seminars. There are links to their books too of course, and sometimes these links lead to Amazon or the publisher’s site. If the book is electronically published, you can even buy it right on site. The point is though: there is detailed information there, not just sales hype. In short, there is supporting evidence that they are who they say they are.

History shows us that people can be fooled into thinking the world is coming to an end just from a radio show. History shows us that people will believe a book is wonderful even when they’ve never actually seen it themselves. History has shown us that what you think you see or hear is not actually what you’ve seen or heard.

So, when you land on one of those slick, one page sales hype Web sites. Before you spend your hard earned money, stop and think a bit. Is the person behind the site more likely telling the whole truth — or skewing it in a way that will make you believe what they want you to believe?

Blogs-Why Do People Blog?

Sunday, April 9th, 2024

Why do people blog? Most of the people write blogs to express themselves. They are sure that on their blog they will get what they want printed. If they write articles or columns for newspapers they may or may not get printed. Writing a blog gives the power to each of us to get printed immediately. I personally write my blog http://painsandpleasuresoflife.blogspot.com to express myself freely and feel good to see that what I wrote got printed immediately.

Another reason of writing in a blog and website is freedom of design, layout and structure. Blogging gives this freedom. It does not need navigation architecture designs of a website nor a structured menu. You write and get printed - as simple as that. This has a flip side also. In a website one can lay out the information in an easy to access and read format. You can lead your reader to a particular page in a website. You cannot do that on your blog.

Do blogs get read? How does one popularize one’s blog? These are difficult questions to answer. For most of us, it is difficult to find time and submit our blog in the increasing number of directories. It is also difficult to make sure that our blog will get one of top rankings in a search. Only the search engines know the secret of that and others only speculate. If we try to read the articles written on this subject, not only the quantity but the difference of opinions will leave most of us tired, frustrated and undecided. One more issue- before you decide that you would want to popularize your blog, please think - whether you search for blogs and read them? A lot many of us are so busy writing our own blogs, that we find no time looking for others. Why should this not apply to our potential readers?

Whatever the pros and cons of blogging, one outcome is certain. Blogs give us the opportunity of writing what we want and get it printed.

Consistency Builds Trust

Saturday, March 18th, 2024

But the fact is you are missing one major piece of the puzzle.

Want to know what it is?

No matter what else you know, often, the missing piece is knowing when your hot little prospect will actually make a purchase.

People search for information and solutions in many different ways and on many different time tables.

Some will buy immediately; some may take a year or more depending on the complexity of the purchase.

The key to solving this dilemma is consistent and repeated contact.

If you build a marketing system that guarantees your prospects (particularly your “A” prospects) are contacted at least 8-10 times a year you can significantly increase the odds that your name will jump to the top of the list when they do actually decide to purchase.

Another benefit of constant contact is that by sending your prospects useful information, that doesn’t always ask for a sale, you can establish a bond of trust, and trust wins business. It is almost as though some of your prospects will feel that they owe it to you because you took so much time and effort to educate them for such a long period of time without asking for anything in return

So what will you send to your prospects on a monthly basis?

Here is an example a calendar of contact points
Month #1 – Letter announcing a new service (change to existing service)
Month #2 – Newsletter – highlight tips and company news
Month #3 – Phone call to discover opportunities
Month #4 – Reprint of an industry magazine article of interest
Month #5 – Case study of a successful client solution you provided
Month #6 – Request for critique of a proposed sales letter (you won’t believe how valuable this can be)
Month #7 – Time for another newsletter
Month #8 – Reprint of an article you contributed to an industry magazine
Month #9 – Announce a new service
Month #10 – Invite them to a workshop
Month #11 – Phone call to introduce someone in your referral network
Month #12 – Checklist of helpful tips for your industry/service

Notice that this schedule includes a couple of phone contacts. This to can be a very powerful research tool as well as a business building tool. Sometimes you will learn what your prospect really wants and how valuable the materials you are sending them really are to them.

You man want to consider breaking your prospect list into groups based on potential opportunity. Your 20 or so “A” prospects might get a copy of your favorite book or some homemade cookies in a tin with your company logo one month or some proprietary content or information along with some tickets to the ballgame a couple of months later.

And if you really want to make a hit with your “A” prospects, take the time to find out some background on them and personalize your marketing materials. If Ed Jones over there at Acme Industries went to Notre Dame (not such a hard thing to find out) you will score major points by simply sending a clipping from some magazine about his favorite subject – The Fighting Irish. You can even set-up a service that will find you everything that is being said about a school, industry, company, sports team, you name it. So an industry guru makes a prediction for the future of your prospect’s industry and you drop the article in the mail to them. Now who do you think they are they going to remember come order time?

Create a database of your ideal prospects, set-up a schedule of different types of contact points like the one above, and then stick to it. And don’t forget to include your current clients in that list. Reselling them can lead to more and more business and referrals.
